A Little More About Me

Those who know me well see my love of animals, listening skills, and unpredictable sense of humor. What makes me… “me”?

My friends and clients have described me as many things: present, devoted, inquisitive, playful, compassionate, intelligent, direct, grounded, and a boundary-setter determined to shake off life’s hardships to make room for magic.

My favorite motto is: “the truth is in the middle”.  I talk a lot about continuums and extremes. I am always searching for “the middle way” in my own psyche, body, health, relationships, and life, which is reflected in my approach to pelvic health work (in my own life and with clients). I find extremes difficult to maintain and challenging for female physiology (specifically, “life-force draining”).

One thing you should know about me: I am adamant about women having access to health, consciousness, autonomy, financial health, and the ability to make informed choices for their health and vitality. I stand for women to have access to education and knowledge about their bodies and the support to inquire into their health, life experience, choices, and all else.

Women & Work

My proudest accomplishment has been creating and running my own business. I've been working for myself for over 14 years, in addition to a lot of tough jobs in very “acute” environments that have opened me to the spectrum of humanity. I’ve worked in emergency rooms, residential & inpatient psychiatric treatment, jails, crisis centers, special needs classrooms, and a busy surgeon’s practice. Through this, I discovered I need to work in a way that is true to who I am. That means standing for a fusion of modalities and serving people with a blend of the confidence that comes with experience and great humility at the mystery of life (check out what clients have had to say)

My passion for my work is wide and nuanced. As a child, my roots formed where I was raised, in an area of the U.S. with heavy institutional influences (Washington, D.C.) I wasn’t exposed to many people doing "alternative" things. I’ve had steep learning curves, but am grateful to have maintained a commitment to my vision, personal & professional integrity. I recognize my incredible access to education, business development, mentors, and training. I hope to continue utilizing my personal and professional privilege to serve women on many levels throughout my lifetime.

Dance Will Set You Free

Outside of my soul mission, dance is what lights me up and gets my heart pumping in the purest way. While I’m not musically gifted (though I have a great ear and officially know how to DJ), I have a true knack for movement and rhythm. For me, the dance floor provides a natural, joyful place for me to connect to the eternal pulse of life. Stay connected to me via Instagram + you can learn about Dance Movement Therapy (my official degree) and how we can process life and express ourselves through movement.

Plants Heal

I’m also a vocal advocate of plant medicine & altered states as a friend to the healing path. I find it is a true ally to pelvic healing when these practices are used safely, ethically, and responsibly. I love being a strong, safe, and educated voice for the ethical use of altered states and how it can be a support to this path. I’m happy to share more directly about my perspective on this approach to personal work in consultation calls.

Travel

In the next 5 years, one of my goals that MUST be completed is to get my teachings & trainings to more professionals as there is a severe need and global lack of trauma-informed pelvic care. As reproductive health challenges and complications rise in this rapidly technologically advancing world, the call for holistic pelvic health is alive. Modern societies have the highest instances of hysterectomies. I believe that trauma-informed pelvic care is part of the current wave of human evolution. It’s time to lean in.

Outside of my professional development (a true friend to my personal path), I enjoy live music, culture, existential irreverence, my animals (cats & chickens for now and high hopes for a donkey one day), dance, great friends, partnership, and creativity. I am devoted to my role in this global collective dialogue and am always keeping my eye on the internal and external world. I spend most of my time in Colorado though my favorite place to be is by the ocean. If I could choose one superpower it would be time & space travel.

If you’re ready for this journey, consider joining my core program or contact me directly.

With so much love and gratitude,

Alicia
